The Agnes were still licking their wounds from the painful defeat on Friday evening.
The Agnes knew this was a game that they simply couldn’t afford to lose.
With the Flame unavailable for the foreseeable future, it meant that Finn Ward and Matt Anfield were selected for this must win league game.
However, at 5pm, with blue skies and a hard wicket waiting for the fixture, Albert cancelled the game when he saw one speck of drizzle hit his greenhouse roof.
This decision was received with cheers by the Agnes fans who drank late into the evening at T’Manor.
Driffield News rushed to Albert’s greenhouse to interview him, with the town of Driffield rightfully bamboozled by the decision. To see the interview, please see the attached video.
